But he’s not just about big bets and a day on the punt. He’s also an award-winning Chartered Accountant, social media enthusiast, and all around GC with a million tales to tell.

Butch Miller is one half of the kiwi WWE Hall of Fame tag team, the Bushwhackers. From humble beginnings in New Zealand, Butch started wrestling with his tag team partner Luke Williams in 1966 beginning a 35-year journey to the top of the wrestling world in the WWE and were eventually inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.

Ruth Croft is New Zealand’s trail running queen, and perhaps the mentally strongest athlete we’ve talked to. Not only has she conquered multiple distance races, including the prestigious 100-mile Western States, but she has also calloused her mind through meditation and multi-day silent retreats. She is a thoughtful, disciplined, and inspiring Kiwi legend.

Marcus Daniell is one of New Zealand’s best tennis players. He’s an Olympic bronze medallist, who's won 5 ATP titles, made quarterfinal appearances at both Wimbledon and the Australian Open and has won over $1 million in prizemoney across his career. But he has also been doing incredible work off the court in the charity space.

Lucy Blakiston has a story that is quite incredible. In 2018, she was sitting in a uni lecture, getting increasingly frustrated with how disconnected she felt from the information she was being delivered. So, along with her two hometown best friends, she started a blog called Shit You Should Care About. Four years later, it’s turned into a mini-media empire. Her daily newsletter reaches 60,000 subscribers every morning, she hosts two podcasts and runs an Instagram page which has 3.6 million followers.

Chris Parker is one of New Zealand’s most prominent comedians, and an active voice of the LGBTQ community in New Zealand. During lockdown he grew one of New Zealand’s most entertaining and well-known Instagram pages but there is a lot more than viral fame to this kiwi entertainer.

Carlos Spencer is widely regarded as one of the best rugby players of his generation. He played 44 times for the All Blacks, 89 for Auckland, 99 for the Blues where he won two Super Rugby championships, then enjoyed stints overseas in England, South Africa, and Japan.

It’s the Between Two Beers Podcast third birthday and our 100th episode, so we figured it was a good time to reflect on our podcasting journey, talk about some of the best, worst and cringiest moments along the way and play a few of our favourite clips.

Mikey Havoc was one of the biggest stars in New Zealand entertainment for nearly two decades across music, radio and television during the late 90s and 2000s. He started out as a singer in the rock band Push Push, before going on to pump up the volume as a dance DJ and the long-standing voice of alternative radio station bFM, and then became a familiar face on TV, with his show Havoc and his partnership with Jeremy Wells.

Petra Bagust has worked in TV and radio for 30 years as a host, presenter and regular contributor. Today she's a popular podcast host of Grey Areas with Petra Bagust, and after a few minutes you'll see why. Petra is so smooth, with a perfect mix of genuine wisdom and good gags.

Kendra Cocksedge is the most capped Black Fern of all time and their record point scorer who recently announced her retirement from rugby after a stellar career. But she is NotDoneYet.

Daniel Kereopa is a special person. You’ll hear it straight away. His messaging is subtle, captivating, and deep. He’s disarming with his humour and self-depreciation, but behind it is real authenticity and humility. And he’s got an incredible story to tell.

Brad Smeele was a world champion wakeboarder at the top of his game. His life was an endless summer of travel, competing, modeling, building, and meeting women when a catastrophic accident changed his life and left him a quadriplegic in 2014.

Dan Hooker has been a professional fighter for the last 13 years, forging a path to becoming one of the best UFC lightweight fighters in the world. He is refreshingly honest, open, unfiltered, and up for a laugh as he gives us an insight into the realities of fighting for a living and takes us behind the scenes of the UFC from signing his first contract in 2014 all the way up to his upcoming fight at UFC 281.

Ross Taylor is one of New Zealand’s greatest ever cricketers! In a 16-year career with the Black Caps he made the most appearances, became the highest run scorer in ODIs and Tests, scored the most centuries and took the most catches. He has recently launched his book Black and White which covers these successes on the pitch as well as some of the challenges he faced over his life.

Eliza McCartney is one of the very best pole vaulters in the world. In fact, she is one of the best pole vaulters ever, taking home bronze from the Rio Olympics and going agonisingly close to the magical 5m mark with her personal best in 2018. But her career has stalled over the last four years with an unfortunate run of injuries which has led to an inspiring rebuild of her movement patterns that will hopefully see her return to her best form.
