E91 | Jason Hoyte
Episode summary | Jason Hoyte
Jason Hoyte is a New Zealand screen and voice actor and radio host, comedian, stage performer, ACC commentator, cricket umpire, and father of four.
He’s also one of our favourite New Zealanders and someone we’ve wanted on the podcast since we started!
In this episode we go over some of his greatest hits including his infamous scene with Nadia Lim on The Late Night Big Breakfast, commentating with the ACC, his relationship with Leigh Hart and the trials and tribulations of putting Bhuja together on Radio Hauraki, the chaotic early days of comedy with Sugar & Spice, and acting with a young Ryan Gosling.
His acting credits are enough for a career on its own, but when you add his voice-over work it makes for an impressive body of work. Jason is so often ‘in character’ in his public-facing roles, so it was a real treat to peak behind the curtain to find out what really makes him tick.
