E143 | Steve Price
Episode summary | Steve Price
Steve Price is a legend of rugby league on both sides of the Tasman.
In a 17-year playing career he made 313 appearances in the NRL split between the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and New Zealand Warriors. He also represented Queensland in 28 State of Origin matches, played 15 tests for the Kangaroos and was a guest player on the All Golds tour to England in 2007.
His impact on New Zealand transcended his four years at the Warriors. He also coached rugby league at Mt Albert Grammar School, was a Child Cancer Foundation Ambassador and opened a Four Square supermarket in Waipu. Along the way he became a pillar of his adopted kiwi community, which was recognised when he was appointed a Member of the NZ Order of Merit in 2010.
He is one of the most personable sporting celebrities to grace New Zealand shores with a humble yet compelling nature. His intelligence and experience make him one of the best role models and leaders in sport and an articulate and expressive guest.
